Murcia’s network of “Greenways” offers more than 170 kilometres of dedicated cycling and walking trails that make the most of the region’s varied landscapes. From dramatic coastal promenades to peaceful vineyards and pine forests, these routes showcase the best of Murcia’s nature and history, making them perfect for locals and visitors of all ages.
The Cieza Flowering Green Route is a springtime highlight. Setting off from La Corredera, this route is best enjoyed when the patchwork of local fields burst into colourful blossom. After a gentle ascent, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic mountain views from the viewpoint at the old La Macetúa station.
The Almendricos Greenway, meanwhile, climbs steadily from its namesake station to the border with Almería, taking you through farmland, low scrub and protected pinewoods. Adventurers can even continue onward on the Almanzora Greenway, for those who like their rides epic. You might also be interested in: Step into September: Five scenic Murcia hikes to try this month
