Made in Andalucía: Spanish humanoid robots to bring the future to India's first robotised city
With bases in Málaga and Seville, Macco Robotics teams up with Indian firm Sieflex to launch a new era of smart technology
Imagine a future where robots serve up your drinks, assist in museums, and work alongside humans to shape a smart city. That future is coming to life in India’s first robotised city, Takshashila, thanks to a pioneering partnership between Andalucía’s Macco Robotics and Indian tech company Sieflex Robotics.Based in the vibrant southern Spanish cities of Málaga and Seville, Macco Robotics is a world-leader in humanoid robots designed with a human touch. Their star creation, Kime, the robot bartender, will soon be a familiar sight not just in bars and restaurants, but also in factories, hotels and museums across this cutting-edge city.
As part of their alliance, Macco Robotics will supply hundreds of Kime units to the upcoming tech hub, with plans to deliver 1,000 robots in 2026. Sieflex Robotics will be the official distributor in India, and together the companies will pool their research and development efforts to rapidly advance humanoid robotics.
Víctor Martín, CEO of Macco, describes their philosophy as “developing technology with a human purpose”, combining innovation with sustainability and strict European ethical standards including GDPR compliance. Sieflex director Vivek adds, “Our goal is to prevent brain drain and attract the brightest minds worldwide, while respecting nature and our societal values.”
With an official launch planned for February and a delegation visit from Macco Robotics to India, the project promises a blend of Spanish ingenuity and Indian ambition. It’s a glimpse into a sci-fi future where robots and humans work side by side to create smarter, more efficient cities - made in Andalucía, imagined for the world.
