Murcia weekend weather forecast April 16-19: The summer starts here!

Things are hotting up in Murcia, where temperatures will soon break the 30ºC/86ºF mark

We’re still two months away from the start of official summertime in Spain, but already, with the current spell of sunny weather, temperatures are nearly touching 30ºC and they are only due to rise over the coming days, reaching up into the low-30s.

It comes as meteorologists warn of an especially long and hot summertime to come in Spain this year due to an increased ‘Super El Niño’ weather effect.

Here’s what lovely weather we can expect in the Region of Murcia this weekend, according to the weather forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

Thursday April 16

Murcia weather forecast, Thursday April 9

For Thrusday, Aemet forecasts “partly cloudy or clear skies, with patches of high cloud and cloud forming during the afternoon” along with “low cloud in the morning… in the Campo de Cartagena area”.

Temperatures will be “rising inland and remaining largely unchanged along the coast” and there will be “light, variable winds”.

Friday April 17

Murcia weather forecast, Friday April 10

On Friday, there will be “cloud cover developing during the afternoon” and “low clouds in the morning around the Mar Menor, with the possibility of mist,” though it will still be bright enough for most. Minimum temperatures will not change much but maximums will continue their gradual increase, getting hotter during the day.

Saturday April 18

Murcia weather forecast, Saturday April 11

It will continue to be a bit cloudy on Saturday, but mostly “with patches of high cloud”, and there will also be “light, variable winds, tending to blow from the southeast in the afternoon,” according to Aemet.

Sunday April 19

Murcia weather forecast, Sunday April 12

By Sunday, maximum temperatures will be reaching up to 30ºC in central parts of the Region, with the same sunny but ever so slightly patchy cloud dominating the sky.

For the week ahead, this weather pattern is due to continue as temperatures hit the 30-degree mark and just keep going on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday… time to get the suncream out!
